Short and sweet this AM…heading for a full day at the office. Today’s gift is Joy….Christian Joy…a feeling of great pleasure and happiness. How comforting to know that our God, with all the gifts He has blessed us with, found it in His heart to give us the feeling of Joy. My most recent experience with this gift came on April 10 when we welcomed our newest grandchild into the world – Audrey Grace Johnson. I started a quick search on the topic of Christian Joy and found many wonderful sites offering insights. I am posting one here; it is a podcast of one of most favorite radio programs – Catholic Answers Live. The topic is none other than Christian Joy– enjoy.
Today is the Feast of St. Mark the Evangelist.. From today’s Gospel…
Jesus appeared to the Eleven and said to them:
“Go into the whole world
and proclaim the Gospel to every creature.
Proclaim His marvelous deeds to all of the nations…Psalm 96
One of my favorite choir pieces (I learned this at Prep North)… Go Ye, Go Ye, Into the World. Although this version is a bit different than what I learned, I really enjoyed this one – hope you do to. Watch the young man at the end of this clip. It brought “joy” to my heart – I don’t know how he read his music the way he was holding his folder and he had that look of “Why are we singing the Battle Hymn of the Republic?”.
Do something great for our Lord today.
God’s will, not mine be done.
Be not afraid.
Jesus, I trust in You.
