Men of Prayer and Women of Prayer who follow this blog we need your prayers.  A few days ago I asked you to pray for the Leahy family who lost their son Chris to a rare cancer.  Last night at our Knights of Columbus meeting, Andy shared with us that the funeral Mass will be held on June 9.  He stated because of Chris’ age and the rareness of the cancer that more research was going to done on his body, hence the length of time between Chris’ death and the Mass.  He then shared something that breaks my heart just thinking about it.  He wasn’t sure if he was going to be able to go to the funeral because of his estranged relationship with the family.  He didn’t go into detail about it but I can tell you Andy did many things to try and keep his son alive.  Blood drives, donor marrow drives, requests for prayers from everyone he knows.  So now I’m asking each of you who follow this blog to pray for a miracle.  We need to pray that whatever divisions there are in this family be healed by the 9th of June so Andy gets invited to attend his sons funeral – he will not attend unless asked by the family to do so.

So, a few years back I wrote a little devotional to use in such times.  I am going to share this with you today in the hopes that all of us use this to bring this miracle to fruition.

A Fist Full of Prayers Devotion:
Blessed Mother, we pray you take our intentions and lay them at the throne of all Graces. Intercede on our behalf at the feet of our Triune God. We ask that our prayers be heard and answered according to Their will.
(State your intention…follow with):  We ask you to  heal the divisions in the Leahy family and allow Andy to attend the funeral Mass of his son Chris.
(1) Our Father
(3) Hail Mary’s
(1) Glory Be

Please add this to you morning prayers…let’s do something great for the Leahy family.

God’s will, not mine, be done.

Be not afraid.

Jesus, I trust in you.
