First of all, since I don’t blog on Sunday’s, happy Fathers Day to all of you. To my father Jack and my father-in-law Ignatius, a simple thank you for all the guidance you gave me while here on earth. Rest in peace – there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think of both of you.
Now – how about something pretty radical. Today’s Gospel says let your yes mean yes and your no mean no. Reading Bp. Barron’s reflection this morning, he mentions a woman who had everything in life – family, friends, faith and finances – all in abundance. She and her husband made a vow to each other that whoever died first, the other would give their life over to Christ. Rather than me try to explain to you, I looked up the story of Sister Mary Joseph of the Trinity, formally known as Ann Russell Miller to her family and friends. Take a few minutes to read this story…
Ann Russell Miller aka Sister Mary Joseph of the Trinity
I think she read someone’s blog that encouraged her to do something great for our Lord…so, go and do something great for our Lord today (but it doesn’t have to be joining a cloistered convent!!!).
God’s will, not mine, be done.
Be not afraid.
Jesus, I trust in You.
