So they said to him, “Sir, give us this bread always.” Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst.”

Panis angelicus
fit panis hominum;
Dat panis caelicus
figuris terminum:
O res mirabilis!
manducat Dominum
Pauper, servus, et humilis.
Te trina Deitas
unaque poscimus:
Sic nos tu visita,
sicut te colimus;
Per tuas semitas
duc nos quo tendimus,
Ad lucem quam inhabitas.
Amen.

Bread of Angels,
made the bread of men;
The Bread of heaven
puts an end to all symbols:
A thing wonderful!
The Lord becomes our food:
poor, a servant, and humble.
We beseech Thee,
Godhead One in Three
That Thou wilt visit us,
as we worship Thee,
lead us through Thy ways,
We who wish to reach the light
in which Thou dwellest.
Amen.

Do something great for our Lord today – thank Him for giving us the bread of Life.  Get to Mass and eat of the bread of angels.  The people in today’s Gospel wanted a sign, just as their ancestors were given manna in the desert.  Christ has given us more than a sign, He has given us LIFE itself.  Partake of that great sacrament today.  What greater gift can God give us than the bread of the Angels – what more do we need than the Body and Blood of Christ present in our Eucharist.  To quote my favorite quarterback – “Thank you JESUS!!!”.  (If you’re wondering, it was Kurt Warner.)

God’s will, not mine, be done.

Do not be afraid; just have faith.

Jesus, I trust in You.
