Something about an old dog and new tricks…

Sorry about the late post yesterday. I think it was God’s way of keeping me humble. My fingers were flying on the keyboard yesterday and I thought I had typed one of my bests post and I hit the send button and…nothing. Not a single like on twitter, not a single comment from my wife…it was if I had written the greatest literary work and the teacher looked at me and said “You’ll shoot your eye out!”

Turns out, the website it work from changed the way it formats my posts and I had to hit some buttons and do a whole bunch of other things before this would post (late) yesterday. Again, its hard too teach an old dog new tricks.

So today, I will start anew. I will keep this short and simple. If you’ve had a great week, today’s readings will only make you feel better. If you’ve had a hard week, today’s readings will only make you feel better. Kinda the same message, eh, but take a few minutes reading them and reflecting on them and you’ll see what I mean.

May the God of peace, who brought up from the dead
the great shepherd of the sheep
by the Blood of the eternal covenant,
furnish you with all that is good, that you may do his will.
May he carry out in you what is pleasing to him through Jesus Christ,
to whom be glory forever and ever.  Amen.

Also, draw back on the comforting message from yesterdays first reading…Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Do something great for our Lord today – enjoy the day.

God’s will, not mine, be done.

Be not afraid; just have faith.

Jesus, I trust in You.

He must increase; I must decrease.
