Then God said: “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…

God created man in his image;
in the divine image he created him;
male and female he created them.

the LORD God formed man out of the clay of the ground
and blew into his nostrils the breath of life,
and so man became a living being.

Again, the little quotes you see above are all taken from the first book of our Bible – Genesis. From the very beginning we are taught that life is sacred because our life’s breath comes the mouth of God. There is no science, there is no law that will convince me that abortion should be a “right” and we, as “righteous” men should have the power to take that life.

Let me offer one more verse to ponder…

The LORD God then took the man
and settled him in the garden of Eden,
to cultivate and care for it.
The LORD God gave man this order:
“You are free to eat from any of the trees of the garden
except the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
From that tree you shall not eat;
the moment you eat from it you are surely doomed to die.”

The message I hear when I read this passage is that God loves His children and with that love limitations are set. We do this with our children. We give our children rules to follow and when those rules are broken, a fair and just punishment is given to them. We don’t punish out of spite because they had the audacity to break the rule, but out of love because they don’t fully understand all of the possible harmful consequences that breaking that rule is subjecting themselves to.

As I see it, there are many grabbing from the tree of knowledge of good and evil these days. Don’t misunderstand me, this isn’t a Left vs. Right, Liberal vs. Conservative argument. This is my opinion of what I’ve been brought up to believe as truth – God’s truth. God has given us limitations and I believe we have fully crossed the line when we give MAN the power do decide what only GOD should have the power to do. GOD and only GOD can give life…so GOD and only GOD can be the one to decide when that life will be taken away.

From Psalm 139:

13You formed my inmost being;

you knit me in my mother’s womb.e

14I praise you, because I am wonderfully made;

wonderful are your works!

My very self you know.

15My bones are not hidden from you,

When I was being made in secret,

fashioned in the depths of the earth.*

16Your eyes saw me unformed;

in your book all are written down;f

my days were shaped, before one came to be.

Do something great for our Lord today – do a couple of things. Pray for the conversion of those who support the abortion of Life. Praise God – for YOU are wonderfully made – in His image; in His likeness.

I ask that you also keep in your prayers the family of my brother Jay and his wife Cheri. Their grandmother passed away yesterday morning. Grant unto her eternal rest O God. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithfully departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

God’s will, not mine, be done.

Be not afraid; just have faith.

Jesus, I trust in You.

He must increase; I must decrease.
