I must be brief today as I am acting as an Uber for my eldest son. The other day, I asked the question as to who you related to in the Gospel – the Pious Pharisee who saw fault in everyone but himself or the sinful tax collector who begged for God’s forgiveness. Same reflection today, but different roles. Who did you relate to in yesterday’s Gospel…the son who squandered all he had and begged for his father’s forgiveness or the the brother who had everything available to him but looked but his life as one of a slave?
Do something great for our Lord today – if you are the prodigal son – repent and find forgiveness in our loving Father; if you are the obedient son but find what your relationship with God as one of a Master and a slave – know that God loves us as sons, daughters, children – not slaves. He is here for our needs and wants to offer you the best life ever – eternal life with Him. Which ever one you are, mend that relationship with God today.
God’s will, not mine, be done.
Be not afraid; just have faith.
Jesus, I trust in You.
He must increase; I must decrease.
