The LORD is just in all his ways and holy in all his works. The LORD is near to all who call upon him, to all who call upon him in truth.

Today’s readings are a great source of comfort at a time when comfort is needed most in our family.  My wife called me yesterday afternoon to tell me her brother’s wife Karen had passed away.  This came as shock to me and to our children and we hold in our prayers Karen’s and her family.  As the details of all of this are still not clearly known, I will refrain from writing anything more.  I think it is enough for now to ask for you prayers for Karen, Peter, Leah, Jacob and Jessica.

I found a simple 7 day prayer online that I can offer up for the family, please join me in this prayer today…

Day 1:

O Lord God Almighty, I pray Thee, by the Precious Blood which Thy Divine Son Jesus shed in the garden, deliver the souls in Purgatory and especially that soul amongst them all which is most destitute of spiritual aid; and vouchsafe to bring it to Thy glory, there to praise and bless Thee forever. Amen.

Our Father… Hail Mary… O my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of hell; lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of Your Mercy.

Eternal rest give unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. Amen.

Do something great for our Lord today – pray for the pour souls in Purgatory.

God’s will, not mine, be done.

Be not afraid; just have faith.

Jesus, I trust in You.

He must increase; I must decrease.
