If, then, we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him. (Romans 6:8)

Another day and again I ask that you hold the Schumacher and Gordon families in your prayers.  Yesterday went from hard to harder.  My wife and my sister-in-law went with Peter to make the final arrangements for Karin’s funeral.  They were meeting with the funeral home at 1 PM and as they sat down to begin the arrangements, Peter received a phone call from his son Jacob informing him that Karin’s mother, Ursula Gordon, had just passed away.  They had to leave immediately to go tend to that matter.  So I ask all of you to hold these families up in your prayers today as they deal with the grief at the loss of these loved ones.

Day 2:

My Jesus, by the sorrows You suffered in Your agony in the Garden, in Your scourging and crowning with thorns, in Your journey to Calvary, and in Your crucifixion and death, have mercy on the souls in Purgatory, and especially on those that are most forsaken; deliver them from the torments they endure; call them and admit them to Your most sweet embrace in Paradise, where You live with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

Our Father… Hail Mary… O my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of hell; lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of Your Mercy.

O Lord God Almighty, I beseech You, by the Precious Blood which Your Divine Son Jesus shed in His cruel scourging, deliver the souls in Purgatory, and, among them all, especially that soul who is nearest to his entrance into Your glory, that she may soon begin to praise You and bless You forever. Amen.

Eternal rest give unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. Amen.

Please forgive me that I don’t post too much this morning as I am at a loss for words right now.  I am not angry with God, I am just taken aback by the suddenness of all of this.   Prayer for Peter and his family; I ask that you pray especially for Barb Gordon.  In a 24 hour time period, she has lost her mother and her only sister.  I also ask that you pray for Peter and Karin’s children.  They loved their mother and grandmother very much and I know they are struggling with these losses.

Do something great for our Lord today – pray for the souls of Karin and Ursula.

God’s will, not mine, be done.

Be not afraid; just have faith.

Jesus, I trust in You.

He must increase; I must decrease.
