I believe that bear repeating this morning…The Son of Man is lord of the sabbath. With that in mind, let’s offer prayers for a rather lengthy list…
First for my Grace as she is contemplating what she wants to do in the future. Cutting back on work loads, trying to cut back on the stress has got my girl a bit flustered right now. Pray that the Holy Spirit is their to guide every step of the way.
Jeff D. will have to have back surgery – again – but his PSA levels are back to normal. Will still do radiation in November but he remains optimistic about everything he is facing. Again, please pray for Jeff and his family.
David S. started chemo this week. Please prayer for him, and his family, to have the strength to endure this hardship.
For Garrett and Cecilia – who both are battling some strange/rare illnesses. They both are there for each other during these battles and neither of them are holding back on anything they are doing. Please think of them and offer up a simple prayer on their behalf.
Jerome and Megan, Tim and Taylor, Joe and Logan, Justin and Mary – all of these young couples are expecting children in the near future. God bless them all. we pray that St. Joseph mentors the dads and St. Mary is there with the Moms. What two better saints as mentors for these young parents.
Finally, I have another child getting married today. Albeit a Godson, nevertheless Sarah and I are excited for Nama and Alyssa as the profess their love for each other before God (and His people) this afternoon and begin their vocation for the Church.
I have a lot to be thankful for and thank God for the many blessings in my life. Today’s Readings are a reminder of those blessings…
God has now reconciled you
in the fleshly Body of Christ through his death,
to present you holy, without blemish,
and irreproachable before him,
provided that you persevere in the faith,
firmly grounded, stable,
and not shifting from the hope of the Gospel that you heard…
O God, by your name save me,
and by your might defend my cause.
O God, hear my prayer;
hearken to the words of my mouth.
R. God himself is my help.
Behold, God is my helper;
the Lord sustains my life.
Freely will I offer you sacrifice;
I will praise your name, O LORD, for its goodness.
The Son of Man is lord of the sabbath.
Do something great for our Lord today – pray; He will hear your prayer and hearken to the words of your mouth. Have blessed Saturday and Sunday – God willing and the creek don’t rise, I’ll be back again on Monday.
God’s will, not mine, be done.
Be not afraid; just have faith.
Jesus, I trust in you.
He must increase; I must decrease.
(I added this picture. This was taken on Hog Hollow road the other morning on my way into work. I told my daughter, with the fog rolling the way it was, it reminded me of being in LA. Without the traffic obviously!!!)
