Guide me in Your truth and teach me, for you are God my savior. God is my savior, not President Trump, not Nancy Pelosi, not Governor Parson not any other person or form of government, not even Pope Francis. God alone is my savior. I’m tired of the constant hate that is generated from our current political spectrum. There is no right side, there are no middle grounds. You must either love the conservatives and hate the liberals or hate the right and love the left. There is a lot of good on both sides of the fence but damn you for having the gall to think that. I am a conservative by nature but more than that, I’ve chosen to be a man of God. I pray that He keeps me humble in His ways for it is the humble that God teaches His ways and I still have so much to learn.
Good and upright is the LORD;
thus he shows sinners the way.
He guides the humble to justice,
he teaches the humble his way.
Why the rant? It came from reading our Gospel this morning…
Jesus asked the chief priests and elders of the Jewish faith where was John’s baptism from? Here was their response…
They discussed this among themselves and said,
“If we say ‘Of heavenly origin,’ he will say to us,
‘Then why did you not believe him?’
But if we say, ‘Of human origin,’ we fear the crowd,
for they all regard John as a prophet.”
So they said to Jesus in reply, “We do not know.”
That my friends is I presume our politicians of this age to respond. They will say something that will be perceived as brilliant but actually means nothing at all. Milk toast. Ask a politician a Yes or No question and be prepared for a 6 page response that neither once says Yes or No. Do I sound frustrated? I am, and I need to work on that because I shouldn’t be angry; I need to turn that anger into prayer and pray that our Country can fulfill the promise we were founded on – a Christian nation were all are allowed to pursue happiness.
Remember that your compassion, O LORD,
and your kindness are from of old.
In your kindness remember me,
because of your goodness, O LORD.
Teach me your ways, O Lord.
Do something great for our Lord – and our Country – pray for our politicians – Republicans, Democrats, Independents, etc. that they do what is just and right in the Lord. Again, God is my savior – not the US government.
God’s will, not mine, be done.
Be not afraid; just have faith.
Jesus, I trust in You.
He must increase; I must decrease.
But you man of God chose righteousness, devotion, faith, love, patience and gentleness. Compete well for the faith.
