Today is a very somber day for many of us…
Jan 22, 1973 · Roe v. Wade was a landmark legal decision issued on January 22, 1973, in which the U.S. Supreme Court struck down a Texas statute banning abortion, effectively legalizing the procedure across the United States.
It was hard to swallow as a 8 year old and its still a bitter pill to swallow 47 years later. I’m not going to use this post today to offer arguments that will sway those who support this law; I would rather use this post as a way for those who read this post to spend some quiet time reflecting on this law – whether you are for it or against it. Follow this link here to find a day full of Scripture readings that are offered for us to read and reflect on. If you do two of these an hour, it will be a nice way to quietly spend the day thinking about God – the Creator of Life and the Author of Love.
Do something great for our Lord today – spend some quiet time in awe of His love for you; in awe of His love for us; in awe of His love for the innocent.
God’s will, not mine, be done.
Be not afraid; just have faith.
Jesus, I trust in You.
He must increase; I must decrease.
Lord, if you wish, you can make me clean.
But you man of God chose righteousness, devotion, faith, love, patience and gentleness. Compete well for the faith.
From Jeremiah 1:
4 The word of the LORD came to me:
5 Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born I dedicated you,
a prophet to the nations I appointed you.
