As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace.

I’m going to try and combine about 3 days of experiences here.  At this weekend’s Masses, Msgr. Ramacciotti  spoke of our various occupations in life as being holy.  Just as Jesus called a couple of fishermen to become “fishers of men”, so too we are called to that same holiness in our daily work.  I was at a funeral Mass on Saturday morning and came across a gentleman who was a year behind me in high school.  In the midst of our conversation he mentioned that he “was just a mechanic”.  Does that make me just a “project manager”?  Or someone else just “a teacher”?  Take a look at today’s first reading from the optional Mass for St. Angela Merici…

Beloved:
Be serious and sober-minded
so that you will be able to pray.
Above all, let your love for one another be intense,
because love covers a multitude of sins.
Be hospitable to one another without complaining.
As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another
as good stewards of God’s varied grace.
Whoever preaches, let it be with the words of God;
whoever serves, let it be with the strength that God supplies,
so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ,
to whom belong glory and dominion forever and ever.  Amen.

so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ,
to whom belong glory and dominion forever and ever.  Amen.

My advice to anyone reading this, don’t just be a mechanic, don’t just be a project manager, don’t just be a teacher…do anything and everything that you do in PRAISE OF GOD and for LOVE OF NEIGHBOR.  It will add so much meaning to whatever it is you do in life.

You are called; you are chosen to be Christ for everyone around you.  That is no small task, especially in times like we are living today.  Bring Christ to the World; be Christ to the world.

Do something great for our Lord today – use that gift as a mechanic to serve our God and offer all that you do in praise of his name…oh, and could you throw a brother a 10% discount?

God’s will, not mine, be done.

Be not afraid; just have faith.

Jesus, I trust in You.

He must increase; I must decrease.

Lord, if you wish, You can make me clean.

But you man of God chose righteousness, devotion, faith, love, patience and gentleness.  Compete well for the faith.
