O LORD, hear my prayer, and let my cry come to you. Hide not your face from me in the day of my distress. Incline your ear to me; in the day when I call, answer me speedily.

The Fourth Station – Jesus Meets His Blessed Mother

V.  We adore Thee O Christ, and we praise Thee.

R.  Because by Thy holy Cross, Thou hast redeemed the world.

How sad and painful it must have been for Mary to behold her beloved Son laden with the Cross, covered with wounds and blood, and driven through the street by savage executioners!  What unspeakable pangs her most tender heart must have experienced!  How earnestly did she desire to die instead of Jesus, or at least with Him!

O Jesus, O Mary, I am the cause fo the pains that pierced your hearts.  Would that my heart might experience some of your sufferings.  O Mother, let me share in thy sufferings and those of thy Son, that I may obtain the grace of a happy death.

Our Father…; Hail Mary…; Glory Be…

V.  Lord Jesus, crucified.

R.  Have mercy on us.

Sung…Is there one who would not weep.  Whelmed in ministries so deep.  Christ’s dear Mother to behold?

Do something great for our Lord today – think about your mother for a while and the sacrifices she made for you during her life.  Then think about our Blessed Mother and understand better the sacrifices she made not only for Jesus – but YOU also.

God’s will, not mine, be done.

Be not afraid; just have faith.

Jesus, I trust in You.

He must increase; I must decrease.

Lord, if you wish, you can make me clean.

But you man of God chose righteousness, devotion, faith, love, patience and kindness.  Compete well for the faith.

Eternal God, in Whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion – inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us so that in difficult moments we may not despair nor become despondent but with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself.
